The new Florentine Sports Centre, named “Viola Park”, embodies landscape preservation, environmental consciousness, and community integration. Characterized by low-impact architecture with natural or lowest possible environmental materials, new buildings feature slender exposed metal structures and glazed fields, while roofs covered with photovoltaic panels in shades of green are designed to collect rainwater and meet the energy needs of the entire sports center. This innovative project balances sports excellence with environmental stewardship, enhancing the area’s cultural and ecological richness.
The photovoltaic systems used represent an important example of how high architectural value can be leveraged to create a clean energy source. The photovoltaic system is flawlessly integrated into the semi-transparent roof of the station, with the adoption of special glass-glass modules, with precise shapes and dimensions.
